Program Overview

What We Offer…

Morning Multiage Session for 3, 4, & 5 Year-Olds
(9-12, Monday-Friday)

We follow a Thematic Curriculum that ties into the introduction of “The Letter of the Week”. Letters and letter sounds, rhyming, numbers and counting, counting objects, colors and shapes, patterning, sorting, comparing and spacial relationships are skills that are intertwined throughout our days every day. As we aim to develop the whole child and address the different learning styles of our students, fine and gross motor and musical and art activities are the heart of our daily activities.

Learning how to be an active and attentive listener and showing respect for others while they are speaking is an important starting point for all of our students. Our 3 year-olds are exposed to academic concepts, while our 4 and 5 year-olds are taken to a mastery, and sometimes a challenging, level. Skills are introduced and taught progressively and weaved into numerous activities throughout our day, so learning happens naturally without frustration. And as our 4 and 5 year-olds work toward mastery, they will be taught to write their name correctly and will begin writing all letters of the alphabet and numbers 1-10, too.

**CHOOSE YOUR CHILD’S ATTENDANCE DAYS** (2 day minimum required)

Kinder-Readiness Extended Day Session for 4 & 5 Year Olds
(12-2, Monday & Wednesday)

We offer an extension of our regular 9-12 school day from 12-2 on Monday and Wednesday for 4 and 5 year-old children who are eligible to attend Kindergarten the following school year. This session provides your soon to be Kindergartener a non-intense opportunity to build stamina for a longer day and being away from home, as well as much needed practice eating lunch at school, and more focused development of important Kindergarten readiness skills.

Students in this session will create an alphabet book, be introduced to basic sight words and pre-reading skills through the creation of a box of homemade mini-books, have additional name, letter, and number writing practice, and be introduced to following step by step instructions while completing higher level academic tasks. In addition they will be taught how to actively listen, respond to, and converse during story time and work on higher lever math skills such as counting on, number order, ordinal numbers, and more complex patterning. Finally, tracing and scissor skills will be a focus, as will mastery of recognizing personal information such as address and phone number.

Evaluating our Students

We send informal evaluations for all students in January in the form of a “Mid-Year Text Report”. In this report, parents receive a detailed narrative about their child’s progress that answers the following questions…How is their child doing overall? Is thier child making friends? What are some of their child’s favorite activities? What is something that their child could work on as we head into the second half of the year?

Our 4 and 5 year-olds are formally evaluated in June.

Our 3 year-olds are not formally evaluated. With preschool being their first exposure to school, we look to see that they have adjusted to being away from home, developed a love for being at school, and begun to grasp new skills and concepts that will be developed as they progress toward their 4 year-old program and eventually Kindergarten.

If at any time there is a need for a conference, parents will be invited to come in and talk.

“Itty Bitties” Program for 2 Year-Olds
(9:15-10:30, Monday & Wednesday)

Our “Itty Bitty” program is the perfect introduction to a school setting for your 2 year-old! Beginning in mid-October, our itty bitties will come to school with their caregivers and be introduced to school through play! They will experience the joy of exploration and free-play, participate in circle time, listen to an interactive story, and participate in the “activity of the day”…all this before they head to our main classroom to join our older students at the end of thier circle time to sing a special song of the week and goodbye song together.

There will be no rush, but the goal of this program is to lead our itty bitties to a time when they can comfortably and confidently *say goodbye to their caregivers and participate independently in a mini-version of the East Aurora Preschool Center program that we provide for our 3-5 year olds. *When this happens, caregivers will have the choice to leave for a “Caregiver’s Morning Out” or to wait for their itty bitty in a seperate classroom.

Want to be involved in your child’s preschool experience?

We LOVE getting to know our parents and having them with us! Be sure to ask us about the different types of opportunities we offer for parents to come into our school and join us on field trips!
